Mating and Life Span

Golden hamsters can live up to three years. The Russian hamsters can live about two years in captivity. The Chinese hamsters can live until two and a half years to three years and the Robovski hamster can live until three years in captivity. They Golden and Russian hamsters can already mate at their fourth week. However, the Chinese and the Robovski hamsters have a longer period to be matured enough to reproduce. 2-3 months and 2-4 months respectively are their waiting time before they can mate with other hamsters. If you want to give them a longer life span, you need to consider all facts about hamsters. They can produce several pups in a year. It must be noted that the pups and the parent hamsters mustn’t be left together without foods for the parents might eat their pups, making them cannibalistic.
